  • Engine Control Module Power Supply Relay (J271) faulty

  • Check Fuse(s)
  • Check Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Coolant Fan Control Module (J293)
  • Check Coolant Fan Control
    • Perform Output Test
  • Check/Replace Coolant Fan Control Module (J293)
    • Check Activation Signal with Ocilloscope
  • Check Engine Control Module Power Supply Relay (J271)
    • only applies if the Coolant Fan is running with Engine cooled down and Ignition OFF until Battery is drained
Tech Notes
  • When found in Audi A3 (8P), the complete Coolant Fan may need to be replaced. Detailed Instructions and Repair Information can be found under Recall 19D8 (2004439).
